FONA logo

In a way, this logo is probably the most complex one we designed so far. The complexity starts with trying to explain the relationship between the different parties involved but doesn’t necessary end there. Here’s an attempt: FONA, short for Forschung für Nachhaltige Entwicklungen (Research for Sustainable Development) is an initiative by the BMBF, the Bundesministerium for Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research).

FONA itself however hosts numerous projects under its roof, each of which currently has its own logo. In an attempt to create a unified corporate design for all of these ZORA (luckily just a 4-letter word) created a design system that would allow for this. As you may imagine, this was just the short version.
